Daniel P. Brinkmann, CPO

Dan Brinkmann, Certified Prosthetist Orthotist, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point in 1980 then continued his Prosthetic and Orthotic Certificates at Northwestern University Prosthetic and Orthotic Center Center in 1981. He was certified in Prosthetics by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABC) in 1983 and in Orthotics in 1985. Dan also achieved Fellow status with the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists in 2001.

Dan began working in the orthotic and prosthetic field during high school as a technician, fabricating artificial limbs and braces. In college he became more involved in the clinical care of patients by assisting his father, who was a CPO. Seeing people helped to achieve ability, mobility, and improved quality of life motivated him to pursue a career in prosthetics and orthotics. In addition in his more than 30 years clinical experience, Dan also has been an educator. He has lectured occupational and physical therapy students at the University of Wisconsin. He has trained prosthetic and orthotic technicians and has been an ABC Residency Director.

Dan is qualified to provide a wide array of prosthetic & orthotic systems including Touch Bionics i-Limb and other myoelectric prosthetic limbs, microprocessor controlled knee-shin systems, the WalkAide functional electronic stimulation orthosis, stance-phase control leg orthoses, and assisted vacuum prosthetic socket designs.

Dan’s interests include spending time with friends & family, exercising in the outdoors, and reading.
