James Wesley “Wes” Haygood is no stranger to the world of Prosthetics and Orthotics: having spent over 21 years working with one of the Nation’s leading Prosthetic and Orthotic companies. This experience taught him the importance of individualized care and the value of 21st century technology in helping patients achieve their maximum potential.
As a third generation prosthetist, Wes graduated from High School in Lexington, South Carolina and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from University of South Carolina. He completed his formal prosthetic training at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and after completing his residency with Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics in Columbia, SC, Wes received his Certification in Prosthetics from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC). His belief in the advantage of technology helping limb loss patients return to normalcy is evidenced through his devotion to continued education. He is certified in all aspects of microprocessor assisted prosthesis’ and orthosis’.
Wes along with his father Danny are partners in Sumter Prosthetics and Orthotics and their over 60 years combined experience has quickly established the Company as the preferred source with Doctors, Nurses, and Physical Therapist in the Midlands of South Carolina.
In his spare time Wes enjoys, hunting, fishing, outdoor sports, and spending time with his wife and children.
